On June 17, 2025, the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA) held a training seminar on the topic: "Quality Assurance in Secondary Education Organizations". The event took place at Coventry University Kazakhstan - the first British university in Astana.


About 50 school directors from Astana city, Karaganda and Akmola regions participated in the seminar. The main objective of the event was to familiarize heads of secondary education organizations with the accreditation procedure as a key element of the National Quality Assurance Model, aimed at improving school performance.


Welcoming remarks to the participants were delivered by:
- Daulenov M.M., PhD, President of Coventry University Kazakhstan;
- Sh.M. Kalanova., Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, President of IQAA.


Professor Sh.M. Kalanova made a presentation, in which she gave an overview of the world practice of accreditation of secondary education organizations, noted the current challenges and trends in this area.


Specialists of IQAA Department of Accreditation of Preschool and Secondary Education Organizations - Makazhanova A.M. and Mukalykova B.J. - highlighted in detail the standards, stages and procedure of institutional accreditation of schools and pre-schools.
The experience of participation of an international expert in the accreditation procedure was shared by Ms. Tyra Nawaz, CEO UK Global Education.


B.H. Sadykova, Deputy Director of School-Gymnasium named after D. Kunayev (Aktobe city) completed the seminar program, who told about the positive experience of passing accreditation in IQAA and its impact on improving the quality of the educational process.


In a ceremonial atmosphere Sadykova Bibigul Khairullaevna received the Certificate of Institutional Accreditation of the school-gymnasium named after D. Kunayev for five years.
