In the course of the meeting, the Minister presented the information regarding the activities and perspective plans of the department. In particular, he paid a special attention of the government to the system of pre-school education and training as in his opinion the development to children from early ages allow to more effectively teach them as they reach the school age.
He also noted that currently there are 9 thousands of pre-school education and training centers and by the end of 2020 100% of children will be fully occupied by pre-school education and training.
Also, the Minister declared that the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan has introduced the project under the Law "On the introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issues of expanding academic and managing independence of higher education institutions" in accordance with which there will be the introduction of the range of mechanisms, which facilitate to the expansion of academic freedom of higher education institutions. Moreover, higher education institutions will have the opportunity to develop study programmes, the most effective of which will be included in the register of study programmes, thus leading to the cancellation of the practice of using the classificator of specialities.
