From December 10 to 12, the Independent Kazakh Agency for Quality Assurance in Education hosted the delegation of the Ministry of Education from Azerbaidzhan. The delegation visited the agency with the purpose to learn Kazakhstani experience of introducing the independent accreditation. It was headed by the Director of the Department for the Legal Expertise and Lisence, Sabkhi Kazimov. From the side of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the meeting was attended by the Head of the Department for Higher and Post-graduate education, Banu M. Norbekova. The President of the agency, Professor Sholpan M. Kalanova demonstrated the presentation of the Kazakhstani model of independent accreditation of higher education institutions in accordance with the international standards and guidelines.
During the meeting, the guests had a chance to learn about the procedure of accreditation in Kazakhstan in details, to review the State Development Programme of Education for 2011 – 2020, to discuss the key stages of the development of system of higher education in country, and relevant issues connected with the upcoming autonomy of Kazakhstani universities. The guests were interested in all details with the introduction of the procedure of accreditation and especially the legislative base. There was an interchange of opinions between the participants of the meeting. At the end, the agency provided their guests with books and materials published by the IQAA as special gifts.
