Meeting of the IQAA Supervisory Board

On February 21, 2025, a meeting of the IQAA Supervisory Board was held. The event was attended by the members of the IQAA Supervisory Board:

1. Zhaksybek A. Kulekeyev – Chairman of the IQAA Supervisory Board, Professor, Member of the Supreme Council for Reforms under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Member of the Center for Analysis and Monitoring of Social and Economic Reforms of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Member of the Supreme Scientific and Technical Commission under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of NC JSC "KazMunayGas".
2. Takir O. Balykbayev – Professor, Director of LLP "Central Asian Regional Glaciological Center under the auspices of UNESCO" of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
3. Sholpan M. Kalanova – Professor, President of the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA).
4. Gani M. Tasmaganbetov – Director of LLP "EL DEVELOPMENT" in Astana, Employer Representative.

The President of IQAA, Sholpan M. Kalanova, presented the annual report on the agency's activities as well as the results of the implementation of IQAA's strategic plan.

IQAA continues its active work on improving standards and methodologies for quality assurance in education, aiming for integration with global practices and supporting the higher education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan at a high level.

At the meeting, a new member of the IQAA Supervisory Board was introduced – Franci Demšar, Professor, Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, Director of the Slovenian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NAKVIS), Slovenian politician and statesman, diplomat, and former Director of the Slovenian State Agency for Science. His participation in the activities of IQAA opens up new prospects for mutually beneficial international cooperation and the exchange of best practices in the field of higher education accreditation.
