* The salary range spans the minimum of the Quality Assurance Engineer I position to the maximum of the Quality Assurance Engineer IV position. The experience of the incumbent will determine the starting salary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge: The items described below are representative of the knowledge and skills possessed by a candidate to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

Technical: This position requires an in-depth understanding of Quality Assurance testing methodology, matrices, etc. Prior experience with the Mercury Quality Center tools is a plus. This person must also have experience with theMicrosoft Office products. Experience with Microsoft Project, development in and supportof aMicrosoft environment is a plus. In addition, experience withrelational databases would be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will possess five or more years experience working in a Quality Assurance role. Experience in a Property/Casualty insurance environment would be beneficial.

Education and/or Experience: The employee must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, from a four-year college or university. The candidate should also demonstrate progress toward professional certifications and designations from a technical and an insurance basis.

Language Skills: Position requires ability to develop, read, analyze, and interpret documents such as Architectural design documents, technical design documents, and project requirements. The position requires the ability to compose/write Test Deliverables – including plans, matrices, test cases, defect reports, etc. The position also requires demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Candidate must demonstrate ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and complaints from managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills: Employees are required to work effectively with mathematical concepts such as algebraic calculations, probability algorithms and statistical inferences. The employee must also have the ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions related to our business practices

Reasoning Ability: Must demonstrate ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to resolve and guide resources to the resolution of issues. Candidate must also possess a demonstrated ability to interpret an extensive variety and array of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Organizational Skills: Must be self-motivated and organized. Employee must be able to plan and perform work with a minimum of supervision, and be able to report findings and problems on an appropriate time basis, per the circumstances involved.

Other Skills and Abilities: This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to organize, prioritize and address multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those required for employee to perform the essential functions of this position successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use computers, scanners, photocopiers, and laser printers. The employee frequently is required to communicate, interact with others, and complete presentations or update meetings.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to theClaims Systems Supervisor. This position has no direct supervisory duties.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The candidate will participate on projects, to help insure the developer’s and designer’s work meet the business goals and the specifications documented in the discovery process. There are multiple levels of the Quality Assurance Analyst position within the IT department, with a candidate’s knowledge and experience determining the starting level and salary range.

MAJOR DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Manage workflow for all testing project deliverables and participate in developing test plans and testing strategy.

Prepare documentation following the QA practices and corporate SDLC that are repeatable.

Track problems and adjustments to the systems, and retest in a timely fashion.

Manage and escalate defects, risk and issues appropriately.

Ability to manage, interpret/understand and communicate all deadlines and concerns on project timelines.

Ability to provide an entire project oversight to project team.

Ability to accurately provide a project teams’ metrics to management on the progress of the project.

Participate in developing business requirements and test plans by providing insight to current functionality and system architecture, and reviewing requirements and testing documentation.

Identify inconsistencies and inaccuracies in documentation before programming efforts begin.

Develop and direct software system testing procedures, programming and documentation.

This position requires the ongoing pursuit of both personal and technical development including insurance-related knowledge.

Employee is also required to perform other duties as assigned.

QA Test Analyst (Indianapolis)

Pinnacle Partners, Inc.

Purpose:
This position is for a Test Analyst who will design and document test cases / scripts and expected results for SW applications.

Responsibilities:
Conduct all forms of testing, including the execution of integration test scripts to assure quality and that the delivered functionality meets the desired results.

Document results of test scripts and follow up on testing related issues.

Regression testing.

Interact with other team in the application development department.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be degreed and have 3-5 years of system development/testing. This includes end to end construction, writing and executing automated test scripts and creating test plans.  Familiarity with automated tools will be helpful. They are currently all manual, but will be moving toward more automated testing over the next couple of months.

Knowledge of SDLC protocols and experience in a validated environment required.

Client is a Microsoft shop, running .Net 2.0 and SQL Server 2005. 

Candidates will need to have attention to detail as well as information systems analysis experience, problem solving, documentation, and time management skills.  They must also have good interaction / team work with business analysts and development teams to successfully design test scripts and expected results.

KEYS TO POSITION:
This person must be able to translate both Functional Design Specs and Use Cases and determine if the finished application meets the functionality outlined in those documents.  Along with this, the person must also be able to translate the intent of design documents to determine if the design and workflow of the application meets the desired outcome of the documents

**  pharmaceutical experience with regulated/validated systems and documented deliverables a plus **

Terms: This is a contract role the will run through 2007 and may run into 2008.
